Partners at Chick Planet

Work at the Massage Parlor An Unexpected Introduction Jade welcomes Doc to Chick Planet Massage and explains its services with practiced enthusiasm. Bambi appears, and the staff's work quickly overwhelms the initial conversation. A Business Near the Raid The establishment sits close to the Channel View construction site and draws Mickey's bodyguards. Its location places Jade and Bambi near the violence that surrounds Mickey's disappearance.

Jade's Compromised Account

A False Identification Police Pressure Jade admits that police induced her to place Doc at the scene, even though he was already found there. She says she panicked and regrets cooperating. A Warning in Return Jade says the armed group swept through the area and that the bodyguards disappeared before the raid began. Her account gives Doc a view of the event from someone who worked inside its most exposed location.

A Night at Club Asiatique

The Women Reenter the Case A Meeting in San Pedro Doc accompanies Lourdes Rodriguez and Motella Haywood to Club Asiatique, where Jade is working under her house name. She warns him that the Golden Fang is active in the area. Men Watching the Club Jade describes being followed and fears that the people around the business may punish her for speaking. Her warning links the club, the massage trade, and the larger organization.

A Flight from Topanga

Bambi Is Missing, Then Found A Panicked Search Jade contacts Doc because Bambi has been missing for two nights. When Doc later finds them at FFO, they are together and appear to have avoided immediate danger. Complicated Loyalties Bambi's attraction to the visiting band and Jade's protective concern pull them through different social circles. Their partnership is loving but continually exposed to people who treat their time and safety as expendable.

A Wider Network

Beyond the Parlor Information as Danger Jason Velveeta warns Doc that Jade has become entangled with the Golden Fang and that the massage business may function as a laundering front. Jade's earlier warning now gains a more concrete economic explanation. Survival in Motion Jade and Bambi keep moving through clubs and jobs rather than confronting the organization openly. Their ability to rely on each other is a modest form of resistance in a system that converts intimacy and labor into leverage.
